Black To White

Image
Black and White  My Project gave me some initial trouble as I wanted to do shades, compound and complementary but I had to switch the shades for triad since I was having difficulty. I like the colors that are portrayed in the triad piece.  Here was my attempt at the shades edit: Here is the original B&W and Original color photo:

Brush Tags

For this project I was able to edit my original black and white log using the brush tool to create a logo tag. The blending of the colors and the ability to distort my original logo has definitely enhanced the project.

Photoshop Tutorial

Three tutorial links: Overall tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFyOznL9UvA Black and white tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCagifgeNuw Double exposure effect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOYz669WNpU I think the lasso tool and the effects that can be made through adjustment layers are effective tools in editing images as they can be used in many different ways. I work with adobe premiere pro almost everyday so the editing effect presets are very familiar to me. Adjustment layers are also convenient because of the fact that you can place numerous adjustment layers on top of each other for different effects. I think the brush tool will be the most challenging because I have never been able to use the brush tool effectively in the little time that I have spent with Adobe Photoshop. Overall, I am looking forward to diving into photoshop.

Artist Statement: The meaning behind this project symbolizes how as a young Black male, we are commonly viewed as a threat to society. I believe that the picture goes well with the piece because of the expression on my face almost as if I was angry at the world around me.

Logo

This logo represents a part of me that can never be taken away and that is my Jamaican heritage. Having both of my parents, and my sister being born in Jamaica and growing up around the Jamaican culture has had a huge impact on my life and I am always happy to rep my culture.
